Successful photo editing often goes unnoticed, and hopefully I achieved that here. The cyclist was photographed in a studio (alternate take shown above) and I replaced the background with stock photography, edited and blurred to show desired depth of field. No photographers were run over!

An example of obvious editing — using photos my colleagues posed for. One wore a red jumpsuit that I changed to blue for contrast, and another was the hand model. I also used a separate photo of the award, and stock photography of person in the suit.
